Our Journey Through Hospitality
Our journey with Eden Properties began in 1975 when Mike Eden relocated from Flint, Michigan, to Key West, Florida, and acquired the Eden House Hotel. Partnering with Colleen, they transformed a modest hotel into a beloved retreat by remodeling it and expanding with five additional buildings, creating the renowned Eden House Key West. Their dedication led to a remarkable return referral rate of over 60%, a testament to their exceptional hospitality.
A Legacy of Excellence
In the early 2000s, Elizabeth joined The Eden House team at the front desk, quickly rising to a managerial role. She played a crucial part in modernizing the property and continued to contribute to its success until its sale in 2022. Elizabeth now collaborates with Mike and Colleen, carrying forward their legacy and applying the invaluable lessons learned to our diverse range of vacation rental properties across the East and West Coasts.
Revitalizing a Historic Gem
In January 2017, we acquired the Princess Anne Hotel, a historic landmark dating back to 1924. This iconic building has served various roles over the decades, from a hotel to an annex of a psychiatric hospital. In 2003, award-winning preservationist Howard Stafford meticulously restored it. Since our acquisition, we’ve modernized the hotel with new Split AC units and updated furnishings, blending contemporary comfort with the enduring charm of its Art Deco heritage. Looking ahead, we’re excited about expanding our offerings, including plans for a new restaurant and a spa.
Expanding Our Horizons With Eden Vineyards
In late 2018, we acquired Carriage Vineyards and rebranded it as Eden Vineyards. Spanning 100 acres, our property features a charming Bed and Breakfast, a 30-acre vineyard, 8 acres of olive trees, and a variety of ranch animals. Elizabeth, along with her two sons, Brayden and Ashby, now call this picturesque estate home. We cultivate a range of premium grapes, including Cabernet, Merlot, Grenache, Viognier, and Syrah. Our exquisite Bed and Breakfast is nestled in the heart of Paso Robles Wine Country, offering a serene retreat amidst the vineyards.
Continuing Our Legacy
In 2022, following the sale of Eden House in Key West, Mike, Colleen, and Elizabeth sought to keep their passion for hospitality alive. Recognizing the growing demand for vacation rentals with hotel-level amenities, they founded Eden Properties to meet this need. With Sam overseeing operations in Asheville, supported by Jenni and a dedicated team, Eden Properties has grown significantly. Since its inception, we’ve expanded our portfolio to include 12 properties in Asheville, offering a mix of short-term and long-term rentals along with a hotel. We also manage two properties in Lake Tahoe, California, and two in Key West, continuing our tradition of exceptional service and quality.
